Ed Carroll for Bundamba

State Election - Bundamba

It is the intention of our State President Edward Carroll to contest for the seat of Bundamba. Ed has been a local to the Centenary Suburbs area since his teens, having moved around the area from Richlands to Riverhills over the past two decades. Just before running in the Inala by-election earlier this year, excessive rent rises pushed Ed and his family out to Goodna, where he has made his new home. Ed is very familiar with Ipswich, having started his university studies at the old University of Queensland Ipswich campus, and has been active with community groups from Goodna to Inala for many years.

Ed is a father of 3, and became more involved in politics back in 2018 as a way of ensuring the world he leaves behind is better for his children. He ran in the seat of Miller at the 2020 election, primarily to challenge then Transport Minister Mark Bailey. The policies that Ed will be taking to the state election in October can be seen below and in the Policies section.

Policies for Bundamba

  • Declaring a State of Emergency on homelessness, and opening shelters
  • Build a 24hr youth drop in centre to get kids off the street
  • Create community owned power in Bundamba, South Ripley, and Redbank Plains to help lower energy prices
  • Help Nurses and Aged Care workers in the electorate with Nursing Housing Authority
  • Trial a specialist trauma trained team for Family and Domestic Violence calls and welfare checks, both working alongside and replacing police
